HIKVISION ANNOUNCEMENT
Dear Customers,
Recently, there are an abundance of heated discussions in newspaper articles, television shows or social blogs that hackers are able, using default username and password set by the manufacturers, to access devices, because those default log-in credentials are freely available online, leaving the unsecured devices accessible to anyone.
Hikvision’s products are delivered with the default user name and password credentials in order to give convenience for the end users to facilitate the first-time operation; therefore, it is strongly recommended that users must change them with unique access credentials during the first login and on a frequent basis. For instructions on changing the default admin and password credentials, please refer to the product’s updated user manual or consultant with the local technical support by emails or by phones.
In addition, Hikvision releases its firmware periodically for keeping the products up-to-date. Please be sure you have the latest firmware version for your own product. You may find more details in the following website: http://overseas.hikvision.com/en/Tools_82.html
With decades of experiences on the surveillance industry, Hikvision is dedicated to continuously improving the security of our products and solutions, and is always committed to complete security assurance for the users. The Hikvision Security Response Center (HSRC) was established to provide our customers with a resource to report security concerns and to provide additional assistance concerning these products. You are welcomed to contact the HSRC by sending an email to hsrc@hikvision.com.
Thanks again for your attention and support for Hikvision!
